A new life in Paris

The moment the plane took off from Miami, I knew my life would be changed forever. I was embarking on a journey of which I had always dreamed, but never imagined would happen. I was moving to Paris, a city I always held in a high, if not ethereal, regard. The “City of Light”: enraptured in history, romance, intrigue, love. What better place to fall in love, in all senses of the word. But perhaps the most important of all, it had become my place to fall in love with life.

During my previous visits to Paris, I had always fallen in love in some small way. Whether it be with the majestic flying buttresses of Notre-Dame, the serenity of the Seine, the cobblestone of the Champs-Élysées, or the bustle of the cafés on every corner; Paris had become a place of discovery. A place to discover all sorts of things about myself and life in general. I was enchanted by the ability for Paris to always surprise me. I always left a little bit happier and more fulfilled than when I arrived. Now that I have been given the opportunity to live in Paris, I am overwhelmed by the possibilities that await me. I am excited, a little nervous, but so very grateful for what lies ahead for me on this journey.
